About Us

Set in the small, historic town of Warwick and situated next to the famous castle, this beautiful old building was the home of Thomas Oken in the early sixteenth century, making it around 500 years old. Oken, believed to be the richest man in Warwick at the time, made a fortune dealing in wool and woven fabrics. He died on 29th July 1573 and left most of his money and valuables to aid the poor and to fund education and housing in Warwick. Every year, as stated in his will, there is a Feast Day which is still held today; the toast in honour of Thomas Oken, Merchant and Mercer of the town of Warwick.
Today, this delightful Tudor building has been restored to its original magnificence as a traditional English tearoom.

On the ground floor you will find 2 cosy tea rooms and our shop selling local produce, teas and fine bone china. On the first floor, you will find comfortable armchairs and tables that give you a sense of home. From here you can observe Guy’s Tower and St. Mary’s Church. We serve over twenty different kinds of leaf tea, sourced from all around the world; as well as our Warwick cream tea, cakes, crumpets and light bites. All are served on fine bone china in a traditional setting, and all produce is sourced locally or homemade. Many of our leaf teas, preserves, china and tea accessories are available in our shop should you wish to take anything home with you.
In summer, iced teas, Pimm’s and ice cream are on the menu, with our very own ice cream trike, which you may spot in the market square!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Our team are delighted to serve you in true tearooms style!
